Dr. Sung-Wan Kim received his Otolaryngologic certificate in 1995 and Ph.D. in Otolaryngology in 2003 from Kyung Hee University. He was educated at the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1999-2000, and at Stanford University in 2005. He has worked as a full-time professor at Kyung Hee University Hospital since 2003. His major is Rhinology and Sleep. He served as the President of the Korean Society of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, the Korean Society of Sleep Medicine, and the Korean Rhinologic Society. He has also served as an organizing committee member, and board member of international societies such as IFOS, IRS, ARSR, ISSS, etc. He published more than 100 scientific papers and several textbooks. Currently, he is working as the President of Kyung Hee Healthcare System and Medical Vice-President of Kyung Hee University. |

Prof. Shimizu graduated from Mie University School of Medicine in 1983 and spent his fellowship at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Mie University (Prof. Yasuo Sakakura).
He worked at the Department of Pulmonary Pathobiology (Prof. Paul Nettesheim), National Institutes of Environmental Health Science, U.S.A. in 1988-1991. Prof. Shimizu has been a chairman of Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Shiga University of Medical Science, Otsu, Japan, since 2004. Prof. Shimizu’s major research interest is airway inflammation (Allergy and Immunology) in Rhinology, and he received the award of Japan Rhinologic Society in 1996. Jong Woo Chung, MD is a professor and the former chairman of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Asan Medical Center, University of Ulsan College of Medicine. Dr. Chung graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine and pursued his medical residency and Ph.D. in Otolaryngology at the Seoul National University. He trained in general otology, neurotology, skull base surgery, and cochlear implantation. Dr. Chung moved to Asan Medical Center, University of Ulsan College of Medicine, where he developed skull base surgery, audiology, endoscopic ear surgery, and cochlear implantation. He started basic research on noise-induced hearing loss. Along with his colleagues at Asan Medical Center, he conducts several clinical studies on sensorineural hearing loss, cochlear implantation, middle ear implant, chronic ear disease, and otitis media in children. Recently, Dr. Chung has been involved in developing robot surgery in ear surgery, artificial intelligence, and endoscopic ear surgery. Dr. Chung published more than 130 papers in the journal index in SCI/SCIE. Dr. Chung also served as the president of the Korean Audiological Society from 2014 to 2016 and the Korean Skull Base Society president in 2017. He is currently serving as the President of the Korean Association of IRB. |
